Feng Shui Consultations
I feel deeply honored to be invited into people's homes and spaces. I am continually impressed by people's willingness and ability to share candidly what feels out of harmony in their lives. I am humbled by their trust, and their openness to suggestions and guidance in helping them transform their spaces and their lives. I cannot think of a greater honor.
Who wants a Feng Shui consultation? Everyone, but particularly people who are going through some sort of change, like a divorce, a job change, or becoming an empty-nester. Also those who aren't experiencing enough change, and desire to see evolution in their relationships, career, health, finances, and other aspects of their lives. Many people find Feng Shui extremely helpful when building a home or remodeling a space, or in dealing with marital tension and stress. While I am often hired by one person in the household, I ask that all adult members be involved in the consultation if possible. While the other partner may be reluctant at first (sometimes even downright distant), once we are underway I am deeply heartened to find that partner joining in and engaging in the consultation, and in the discussions about their home and their life. Over and over again I feel humbled and inspired by this experience.
Consultation Details
- A consultation is, on average, two to three hours long, and provides you with enough information to continue applying Feng Shui techniques toyour home for years without any additional reading or guidance from an outside source. Having said that, many people find that the experience of applying Feng Shui is so powerful that they desire to continue to learn and to refine.
- Fees: the average consultation takes about two and half hours on site, with advance work and follow-up included in the consultation fee of $270. For smaller spaces such as an individual offices, or larger spaces like large homes or entire businesses, I may make an adjustment to the fee. If the home or office is located west of the Twin Cities, Minnesota or east of Eau Claire, Wisconsin a travel fee may be added. These considerations will be discussed in advance, probably at the time consultation is scheduled.
- After our initial consultation I am available to provide additional Feng Shui services at $90/hr. Some examples of these services include consulting on additional residences or work spaces, floor plans for potential remodels or additions, and redecorating plans.
Decluttering Consultations
After years of doing Feng Shui consultations I realized that many people wanted and needed help with their "stuff". Most people know they have clutter but many don't have the time, skills, or the emotional and physical energy to face it, much less deal with it productively and efficiently. During a Feng Shui consultation I would tell someone to move their bed into "the command position", only to realize that there were mountains of clutter that would keep them from ever being able to do it.
So, I started offering my services professionally, doing what I have been doing my whole life: clutter clearing and organizing. This process is deeply rewarding for me. I work with the client in their space, and I guide the energy, keep the process going. Within six to eight hours we have transformed a basement or attic, a kitchen or bedroom, a whole host of closets and cupboards and we have made the thing that felt impossible feel very doable. The pictures here on the site are just a small selection from some of my decluttering sessions and, true to photos in general, the pictures don't even begin to communicate the extent of how heavy the energy felt prior to working in the space. They don't show all the stuff beneath and behind furniture, the stuff whose presence is felt even when it is not seen.
Consultation Details
- I charge $45/hour for decluttering, with a six-hour minimum (may be more depending on driving distance).
- Rarely does a decluttering session go longer than eight hours, simply because most people find they reach a limit to how many choices they can make in a day. Besides, it took years to accumulate; it is best removed in layers.
- For around $300 we often accomplish what people say would have taken them days and weeks to do on their own. I often hear that the process is fun, and leaves my clients feeling energized. Synergy! I love the power of this work.
